Dance UK

Dance Exams at our school are open to all pupils at all levels and the students in this class video are preparing for their Grade 4 ISTD Ballet Qualification.

Guest tutor, Miss Elizabeth Henderson is seen here giving the girls a ‘mock exam’ , containing all the elements of the exam itself in preparation for the day when an official ISTD accredited examiner from the ISTD in London visits Dance UK to conduct the examinations.

The examination structure is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession, either as a performer or dance teacher, and for those pursuing dance purely as a serious hobby. Equally importantly, the exams accrue UCAS points for entry to University so are a very worthwhile qualification to hold.

At Dance UK we have been delivering premiere dance education in and around Glasgow for over 30 years and the above clip was shot at our School, based in Bellahouston Park, where we opened in 1989.

Our aim of “Bringing ballet to Bellahouston” is still as strong today with hundreds of dancers from all over training with us year after year.

Thanks to fantastic support from local parents over the years ,we have established a solid reputation for excellence and value in equal measure and being in the same location on the same day for so long has allowed us to build a strong community link where we see generations of parents and pupils enjoying a life of dance, fun and fitness which gives us pleasure and inspiration to achieve even more in the next 30 years!

We are delighted to announce our Production Team will be creating Dance UK Live 2017 at the superb Motherwell Theatre, giving students from around age 6 the opportunity to perform on stage in a professional setting. And for Parents, family and friends, we hope you will join us for this annual Showbiz Experience in aid of the Royal Hospital for Children.

Great work here from our very own up and coming pro dance students… seen here performing an energetic commercial routine …. tribute to Beyonce for the original inspiration!The Beyonce Mash Up Track featured on this video was created by Dance UK’s choreographer Susan Haldane…and thanks to our very own video editor, Martin, for bringing this all to life for us.All the girls train in classical ballet, tap, modern theatre, and commercial dance as you will see in music videos today.Many of our graduates go onto careers are dancers, teachers, singers, actors, musical theatre performers, fitness professionals etc with many performing in all parts of the world.And It all starts with a great training when you are young, so keep dancing, keep improving, and always enjoy!

Boys’ 5th Annual Streetdance Convention

At Dance UK we have been developing our boys only dance course for over 5 years.  Our aim from the outset was to create a path for boys to enjoy dance in an environment that fosters all the skills and fitness needed to master the street dance style which includes breakdancing, power moves, free styling,PLUS urban styles such as hip hop and pop n lock.

Our Classes are aimed at boys who have been inspired by DIVERSITY and movies such as STREET DANCE 3D, STEP UP etc STREETDANCEUK  is progressive, non competitive, professional and FUN and is constantly evolving to include all the latest trends in moves and music.
We hold a our Convention in Glasgow each summer where everyone gets together to enjoy a great day and celebrate dance.
